Company and Partnership Law in Botswana has established itself as the best and leading textbook on company and partnership law in Botswana. Students, academics, practitioners, judges, as well as all those involved in company law, can turn to this book secure in the knowledge that it will be an interesting, thought-provoking and, above all, understandable exposition of both law and practice.
The book’s undisputed strength lies in covering the considerable breadth of company law byway of a detailed, in-depth analysis written in a clear and readable style. The book has proved to be invaluable to all those in Botswana, the Southern African region and beyond, who seek an authoritative guide to the subject.
This second edition has been substantially revised and updated in order to incorporate the radical and sweeping reforms introduced in Botswana’s corporate law culture by the Companies Act 2003.
Professor John Kiggundu, LLB (Hons) (Makerere); LLM, Ph.D (London); Dip LP (LDC); FSALS, has lectured in company law in Africa and Europe for over 30 years. He has published extensively in the areas of company and commercial law. He is the author of Botswana Company Law Service (Juta, 2005); Mercantile Law in Botswana: Cases and Materials (Juta, 1998); and Private International Law in Botswana: Cases and Materials (Bay, 2002). He participated in the drafting of the new Botswana Companies Act 2003, and drafted the new Swaziland Companies Act2009.
