This book is intended as a first elementary introduction to Linear Algebra. The emphasis is put on matrix computation needed for intending mathematicians, engineers and social scientists. The book is based on a second year course taught at the University of Botswana for the last many years, and is easy to read and follow. The approach of this book tends to unify Algebra and Geometry. Many examples are taken from Elementary Geometry, making this book a natural continuation of previous topics in Geometry. The book's six chapters cover Euclidean Geometry, Linear Equations and Matrices, Determinants, Vectors Spaces, Linear Transformations and Diagonalisation of matrices. The book's exposition is elementary. A rudimentary knowledge of sets, relations and mappings is sufficient. In the 4th edition, the number of exercices has been extended, thus allowing students to practice in order to improve their understanding.
